New Hagen Owner. Thinking about a new cabinet

Just picked up a new Hagen and really dig it so far. I didn't get a chance to play before I bought, so I was a little unsure, but so far so good. This thing seems to be more my speed than the Herbie or Einsteins I have played.

I am currently running it through a Recto 2x12 cab with Vintage 30s. It sounds great, but I am thinking about making a switch. I am leaning towards a Diezel or Bogner cab. I don't play anything super heavy, 80s metal and old school thrash would be as heavy as I would ever get. I am leaning towards a 2x12 due to space limitations. I am in a one bedroom in San Francisco, so space is at a premium.

The hempcone Diezel cab has me intrigued.

Diezel 2x12 isn't that much smaller than a 4x12. Honestly, it's the same footprint on yer carpet and with casters, piece of piss to wheel around and such. FL V30 or FL G12K100 - these will rock yer world. Diezel cabs for Diezel heads too - it's not just a matchy-matchy thing, they just fit perfectly together.

The open back 2x12 hempcone cabinet sounds fantastic with the Hagen. I only worry about the maximum power of the speakers as the Hagen delivers 100-120 watts. This cab sounds fuller and richer and way more organic than my other 2x12 with frontloaded v30's (which is NOT a diezel-cab!)

I can't believe you kept the Mark V. I A/B my Mark against the VH4 and Hagen thanks to James Leader in the UK and both Diezel destroyed the Mark V. It made me think twice about Mesa and their extortionate prices in the UK. Was not worth the £2300 I payed for it.

However, I was in the same boat as you. I bought the Head and Cabinet together simply because they are made for each other. I plugged into my Mesa Cabinet and it just didn't do it for me. So I got the Front Loaded V30 4x12 and I don't think I've ever had my balls shaking while standing infront of a cabinet!

I am currently considering a Bogner 4x12 with Greenbacks or one of the Diezel cabs.

I would highly recommend the Diezel Front Loaded 2x12. I was lucky to test all cabs before making a decision. The Diezel Cabs are fantastically voiced for the Hagen!

+1 I use one with a 100 watt Einstein and it rips. I use it for all styles in a cover band as well as a fusion group I play with.

I would love to try a Diezel 4x12" cab. I would guess you will be pleased with a new Diezel cab if the Mesa isn't working for you.

But, I admittedly have had good luck with getting great tone from both Mesa and Marshall 4x12"s I already own. I went Diezel nutty and spent my dough on a Herbert and a Hagen, so I haven't been able to worry about buying matching Diezel cabs yet.
