New head - hotrodded marshall sound

Hey guys,

I'm all set on the Herbert, that i'm only a few bucks away from.

But I want a hotrodded marshall sound head aswell, so I have 2 heads that cover all my needs (until gas hits me again :D ).

I'm looking into the Marshall 2203KK at the time and it seems pretty fine! I have a JMP from 83, but it can't get that heavy sound I need for example Slayer or old Metallica (it sounds damn fine, but it just can't get heavy enough).

So which amps should I pay extra attention to?

In Denmark the 2203KK costs $1,5k and that is what I have available (although if I have to buy the amp in the US and have it sent here, it would only be around $1,1k)

If you already have an '83 JMP, then you could get that modded :thumbsup:

Yeahh, I have thought of that too, but I think it would be too expensive because of the shippingcosts both ways (Denmark - US and back again).

Get Dan (MrDan666) here in the uk to mod it for you...shipping wouldn't be expensive..

the cali mod is awesome!!

i own a herbert and a marshall kk... the kk is a wicked hot rodded marshall, n if you just boost the jcm800 side its old schooll 80 s tone all the way... herb is in a class of its own.

I think i'm going for the exact same setup as you :rock:

What kind of cab are you using? And are it the same cab you use for both?

there are many guys in germany that will mod your amp as well

if you wanna do it by yourself, ask for help in SLOclone, music-electronics-forum and metroamp forums

there are dozens of easy and cheap mods for your marshalls
first, you just gotta figure out what do you want tonewise, and then research what to do
stuff like extra gain, more open tone, less fizz, fatter sound are very simple mods and you won't spend more than 20 euros on high quality parts (I recommend this store in germany for quality parts -> http://www.banzaimusic.com/ )

Instead of modding the amp, just get a SD-1 and an EQ pedal. You'll save a hell of a lot more money.

i use diezel cabs front load k100s and a rear load k100xv30... i run heads in stereo,,, :rock:
