It's been a while but I've been working on getting better tones. Will have Portnoy add drums once I know the arrangement is finalized, which I believe it is.

Please let me know what you think.

The Best Is Yet To Come - Bob Savage

I hope you were looking for honest opinions....

First of all, is this an actual, finished mix of this? If it is read on, if not ignore me...

You're obviously a great player, but the tune itself I don't really get. To me, it doesn't really seem like a coherent piece of music, but rather a somewhat random riff. Nothing seems to resolve like a song (instrumental or vocal) needs to to be memorable. Instrumental songs in particular really need some memorable melodies that recur IMO... it's hard to get into them when it's just one riff...

The guitar tones are really nice and, as I said, you are a great technical player. I just think the song needs to be thought out a bit better for people to really appreciate what you can do. Hope this doesn't bum you out - I just wanted to give some honest feedback, and frankly, if you dig it, my opinion doesn't matter anyway...

Thanks for your input.

This song is riddled with memorable passages. Were you even listening when the bridge played? That section has soul and melody. If you can't hear it then please don't try to act like you know what you're talking about.

You're ugly. Don't have kids because they'll be ugly too.

Is this fusion? That may be the problem because, obviously, I don't listen to or understand different types of music. This song doesn't seem to follow any rules so I can't get my head around it...

Steve

Sounds like you were influenced by Ed DeGenaro's last album.
Don't take that as a criticism. Your influences will always seep through in instrumental tracks.
Let's hear more.
Btw, I think Portnoy might be too dominant a choice.
Maybe just put down some beats of your own.
In 7/4 over 7/8.

No, this isn't fusion. You don't even know what fusion is. Fusion is something way different than this. If I wanted it to be fusion though, it would be fusion, but it's not. This is Razz. It's a fusion, um, it's a combination of Rock and Jazz.

Why do you keep posting? You can't seem take criticism. Your head is over sized.

I have no idea who Ed DeGenaro is and have no idea why you would even mention such a thing. I have no influences. Everything that I write is completely unadulterated by outside influences. If you've heard anything like this elsewhere it's because someone copied me. It's just that simple.

Who are you to tell me who to hire as a drummer? Do you know music? I don't think so.

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.

If anybody here knows how to be constructive, I welcome CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. If all you want to do is be critical then I know it's because you suck on the guitar. I laugh at your guitar playing. It makes me laugh and do other similar stuff.

I understand Razz. I've been listening to it and playing it for years. What you posted isn't Razz, it's just standard atonal riffing. I fart in your general direction...

That last part is true, but it has no bearing on the value of my opinion.
Whilst inebriated, my father presided over the judging at numerous Eurovision Song Contests in the 70s.
He knows tone. Actually, that's a typo. He knows Tone, and together they banged their way through
most of those contestants. Gender was not a barrier in their day.

I'm getting OT, but having established my musical credentials (by relation), can we move on like adults?

This thread should be closed before someone gets taunted a second time

Look, if you understood Razz, you would now that it's really just atonal riffing with the end goal being to expel your inner darkness and achieve omnipresent supergalactic oneness. There is no other purpose. It's obvious you're not enlightened by super duper creamy smooth string tones. Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

Oh yeah, well, I heard you have a strong resemblance to your parents gardener in the 70's so that explains why you don't get it. Don't be bringing my gender into this. I've already been called atonal and will not stand for further ridicule.

I'm the only one acting like an adult here. it's oblivious that you aren't here to be constructive.

Very nice Bob. But I been a fan of your clips/videos for years.
My favorite is the ones you did with the VHT.
NOW..... I am sensing some hip hop / urban in this track.
Maybe Kanye west influenced? My kids were dancing to it with their friends.

This rocks Bob!! All you need is some popcorn and you will be set!!! :checkthisout: :checkthisout: :checkthisout:

That has to be the best example of the Razz style I've ever heard. Much respect! :m17:

Bro, you don't know what I'm all about. Don't be boxing me in as some kind of hip hop urban artist. I'm all Razz all the time. Razz is the way to ultimate, smooth chewiness.

This music is not suitable for children. I can't believe you even let them hear it. There are subliminal messages throughout.

Thanks man! I've always got popcorn so I'm set.

Utter shit.

How will you improve on that?

This cannot be improved upon. It can only expand like the universe.

To all the naysayers, listen to this ejecta dude. He knows what he's listening to.
