I had been thinking about pulling the trigger on an R4 and had been searching for a decent deal on a used one.

I found the R5 on reverb and went with it.

I really dig the all gold look.

The neck is awesome. Big and awesome. It’s bone stock. Bumblebees and Gibson electronics. It’s VOS, so it has that “lightly played” look.

It’s only 8.6 lbs. Sets up perfectly. And the tone is P90 heavenly goodness.

I was practicing this afternoon, for our gig Saturday...with the R5. The weight and the balance is just right. I love how the hefty 50s neck cave fills my hand. Playing through a Marshal JCM 2000, clean channel, with a little delay, a little reverb and some robust OD......DAMMMMM that sounds great!!!
