Welcome.

I personally think the Jim Marshall signature is real. Jim use to help make cabinets and made everyone who built a cab sign it. This way if it ever came back with a problem, they would know who built it.

This is 100% true, it's not uncommon to find a cabinet Mr. Marshall himself built, especially when you get into the older units.

Nice rig btw!

You the same 006 from the Sneap forum?

hey Jordan, thanks for the welcome. The mic on the Recto cab is an EV RE-38 large format dynamic with a 16 position EQ/Rolloff on the back. They are actually really great guitar cab mics and work well for just about everything at one time or another.

Ahhh nice. Ever use them in a live setting? I need to find a mic I can take to shows that isn't a goddamn SM57, and will give me a true representation of the amplifier. I'm done watching soundguys try to make an SM57 or E609 sound good live.

Yeah, actually I spent 10 years a a concert Sound FOH guy before I went back to get my BSEE. I used them quite a bit live and liked them for their flexibility (the 16 position roll-off comes in quite handy). I used them mostly on Drums and Bass cabs live, but bought one later and found I loved to mix it with an SM57 for heavy guitar.

What I have been doing lately is running the JMP and Trem-o-verb together using a Radial Twin City A-B-Combiner. Then:

Marshall>RE-38>Focusrite Platinum>Pro-Tools
Mesa>SM57>UA LA-610>Pro Tools

and then EQ/Comp and pan them slightly different.

Another fellow Trem-O-Verb user gracing this forum? Ohhh YEA! Welcome...and thanx for showing us your awesome stuff!

Hey Guys,

Been lurking on your property for the past few months, and finally got the time to sit down and say hello. So...a little about myself: My name is Don (Deathonastick.....Old moniker from Guitarwar around 2001 or so) and I have been playing for about 23 years give or take. 38 years old and am a total gearslut....

Welcome Don Deathonastick

I'm in Portland as well with some generally crappy gear....always interested in hooking up with other locals to have a beverage, do some playing and compare crappy gear notes. Get in touch if interested.

Welcome to the forum Don. We will make sure to fuel your GAS

Welcome! I've always thought that the Marshall/Mesa combination was hard to beat. Especially when you have two of their top models running together!
