But they want us to listen to that "music" fuck...

If it helps any, there is about a 20 second snippet at the end (starting at 4:50) of just the guitar track by itself. But yeah, I wasn't to thrilled with their choice of music/style/player for this playthrough either. By my count, Mesa is 0 for2 so far on their demos for this amp.

I wish they would do a sit down, in-depth demo with Petrucci (or another good player) and Doug West, like the one they did with Andy Timmons with the Mark Five: 25.

I think that's a pretty good tune to showcase several different types of tones. Pretty good ones too, IMO. And homeboy can play. And I like that it's isolated at the end. Damn good video.

Not my favorite music, but I was able to listen to it and liked the tone. I liked the riffs around the 4:10 minute mark as well. It also seems very versatile. $2,500 for a real made in the USA multi channel amp is a no brainer. People spend $1,000 more than that on amps only to get less.

What they need to do is give it to the Lamb of God boys and let them rip on it for 4 minutes straight. :)

This

Ola needs to get a hold of one of these and then we'll see what it's really capable of. He's videos are always really well produced and a good representation of the amp.

I dug that music. At least there was real singing. I hate to bash the tone, it's not terrible, but it doesn't sound any better than a MKIII or MKIV. I don't know if it's the way the amp's eq'd or if it's something in the chain (I've heard those Mesa Cab Clones are terrible), but there's no balls in this tone at all. It's thin and tinny. I'm still waiting for some guy on RT to get his hands on it and do a good demo.

Yeah, why the fuck does every demo video have to have drums. We get it, you can play along with drums. How about a video of what the amp sounds like, by itself.

I'm pretty sure he's just playing along to the full album track with additional guitars. Pointless for showing off the amp. And yes, you know it's bad when 'djent' is now sounding generic. Or should I say, 'djeneric'. ;)

Mesa give a release date yet?

I didnt care for the video or style
Music but im curious to try this amp and hear it with my own ears and guitars. I wanna get one.

Disagree. Especially on how his videos are a representation on the amps.

1) Ola likes a certain sound.
2) Ola has certain mixing and mastering preferences that greatly affect the 'naked tone' of the amp.

1+2=most amps he demo's tend to sound the same.

Oh, and I personally HATE it when people only demo amps with heavily downtuned 7 (or 8) string guitars. I'm not interested in Low A-tuned flub, I'm interested in harmonic content from a REGULAR tuned guitar (maybe drop-D, or the guitar in Eb). But that's me.

I'm talking about the shit that happens around the 5m30 mark here:

Having owned this particular amp myself, I find this a bad representation of a great medium to high gain amp, that can almost out-Marshall a good souped-up Marshall.

That actually sounds way better than the original studio version. Not really my taste in music, but that's a good demo for that style.

And, are those amps TRULY made in the US??  ;) Anyway, I too wish someone would do a sit down demo with a player and change up the setting while riffing. I set my 2C+ much brighter than JP does, and this video is closer but still not there. Ultimately though we still need an actual A/B with an original, and that needs to come from one of us.

All I know is I have both a Rectoverb 25 and Mark V 25 and his videos represent both amps very well.
I think his demo videos are excellent so we'll agree ti disagree.

Not really IMHO. He's done 100 amp demos that all sound the same. 1. He uses a few tracks. 2. Well, most of us sound the same through different gear so that either good or bad depending on how you look at it.
