It’s been a minute since I played out live. I wanted an amp that would be great for gigging and easy to transport. But also something I found inspiring to play, not just a moddler. So, I decided to pull the trigger on a Mesa Mark Five 35 watt combo! I really like channel 1. I can live on the CRUNCH mode 80% of the time. The FAT mode gets me into Santana-land. Then there’s the high gain channel which I’ve been playing around with.
Its not the easiest amp to dial in and everytime I switch guitars, I have to re-dial the amp in. With that said however, its an amazing amp with many tones to be had and it fits in a compact package. And even at just 10 watts, it’s LOUD and left my ears ringing. It opens up nicely at 35 watts and the el84 tubes sound great on the Crunch mode.
Anyhow, I just wanted to share my new amp. I decided to get mine in blue with a different grill covering. When I got it, my dog Hippie Van Halen, was scared of the amp. I had to pet it and say “Good Amp” for him to get close to it.
