That sounds really good, going to take a trip to Flint to check this out!

It's nice but jeez, $3500……I'm sure glad I just made one of his kits back in the day. I better hold on to it….

Bump because that sounds great.... agreed on the price tag but hey why not when you compare it with the Friedmans and Suhr's out there right?

Also note the BOOST which adds audible volume boost to the sound as well. That's a solution for everyone constantly worried about having to have a boost in the loop for leads. Smart thinking if that is what he did.

Bout time George.
I love my 12,000 series 68 spec you built, but this amp definatly puts you
hat into the high gain hand built ring.

Well done

Cool feature set. Sounds like... a modded Marshall (or a Marshall and some OD pedals).

You mean probably an old Marshall modded?

There is no way you will get a stock Superlead to sound good with pedals at any kind of usable volume unless all of your tone comes from the pedals.

No, not a 1959/87, but a 2203/04. Just IMHO. But I thought the same of the Friedman I played too, and folks go crazy over those.

I had asked on the YT vid about a 3 button footswitch, interesting ( and FAST!!! ) response. My hope was for a 3 button with loop, boost, and mode. Here's George's response:

Footswitching is limited to 2 functions unless I use a different jack. Boost will always be foot-switchable. A small switch inside the amp will allow you to choose if the second button switches the loop in/out or between plexi and mod modes.

For me, this is totally usable, I rarely kill the loop. Can't wait to see this amp!

Wish I had seen this before I picked up a Smallbox :(

I think it sounds good but not for that price. You can get a Wizard for around that used. Or many other amps used that sound as good or better. Just my opinion.

The cool feature (IMHO) is you can go from stock Plexi to modded Plexi. Not the usual sparkly clean to high gain.

Still, pretty steep! I'm loving my old DSL ($500)!

Cool amp, but to me it sounds very much like a lot of other hot rod amps out there. And, really did remind me an 800 getting smacked in the face with a TS or SD style pedal.

While I love the features and sound of this amp, the helios, small box and more budget concious Ceriatone, but if I was in the market, I would just pick up a plexi or plexi clone and have jamie at 3rd Power put that hybridmaster+ in. He did a clip the other day of an 74 super bass with that feature installed. Man, that thing sounded huge. Nice cleans to VH gain with the guitar volume knob. And, I can only imagine what it would sound like with the boost or OD in front. No clean channel but pretty damn good clean sound using the volume knob. I'm suprised there isn't more buzz around here about 3rd Power stuff. All of his stuff sounds killer.

Trailrun100s just had him install the Hybridmaster+ in a plexi for him, so maybe he can chime in. I would love to here some clips with a clean boost, a TS and a few other OD's boost. I would have to guess it sounds pretty amazing. I know....another thread.
