New modern pickups

I’m in the mood for a new set of pickups. In the modern vein.

Any suggestions?

Was thinking about the BKP Juggernaut. Kev uses them and always sounds great

The BKP Juggs are the most unique sounding pickups I've ever tried. There's nothing else like them. I hated it more than I liked it. The chugs are brutal sounding but have no heft and sound hollow in a way. They djent but thats about all they are good for. The cleans were good especially in split coil. I'd stay away from them. The EMG Jim Root set are a decent modern set to try. Vocal and aggressive sounding but uber compressed.

IMO Lundgren smokes bkp- super tight but still beefy and articulate- its them or vintage pickups for me

I had a set of Juggs...liked the neck more than the bridge..as noted it's kinda voiced a certain way that doesn't lend itself to a wider range of music. Can you use it yeah..but there's a lower mid push going with it and slightly rolled off high that after a while I just wasn't as into. The cleans are really good and the neck pickup is versatile.

Deciding between the Rails and a regular BW for a new build. Please, elaborate on your impressions.
The rails version seems to be a little more clear and tight which makes it feel more modern but it’s fairly similar to the OG BW. The OG has a little rounder lows and slightly more grind in the mids, kinda like a slight smear to the tone that is also really cool. YMMV though this is in different guitars as my rails are in a hipshot x shaped 7 and the OG I have in a floyded superstrat. The wood has absolutely no effect on the tone tho as I recently learned 😂

That's what I couldn't jive with on the BW...that smear. I describe it as the pup overdriving to much and its almost like fuzz, but smear is a good way to describe it. Wanted to love them but after trying twice over the years, no go. I much prefer the DD.

Anyone tried the black heaven? Already put in an order for the M6

The Rails or standard BW would potentially be going in a swamp ash-bodied (there’s that wood again), single hum, fixed bridge, 22 fret guitar tuned half a step down.

It’s often hard for me to get an accurate grasp from online demos/reviews because everything these days for heavier tones seems to be done on extended scale guitars or tuned down to drop A or whatever. I know that’s what all the kids be doing but jeez…

Anyway, thank you for your take!
