I picked this up last weekend. It just arrived yesterday.
It’s a 1985 Gibson Les Paul XPL DC.
It came factory equipped with a Gibson/Kahler Flyer tremolo system. Luckily, those systems utilized the standard bridge and tailpiece posts. So it’s a piece of cake to convert it back to a stop tailpiece and Nashville bridge. You just have the cavity route in the body.
So I ditched the Kahler. Put a set of TonePros on it, set it up and it was ready to rock!!
The stock pickups were intact. Shaw Dirty-finger in the bridge and 2 Gibson singles.
Medium/slim bound neck with an ebony board. Mahogany body with a carved maple cap. Weighs about 7.75 lbs.
I took it to band practice tonight and it sounded really good!! Plays great too!!!
