New pick up for my Ibanez, suggestions?

OK, I went and took it out. It didn't sound as good with it out, so I put it back in. Much better.

Tone Zone? According to the tone chart, it's all lows and mids with the highs being at 5 out of 10 I believe. I have one in a brighter Charvel and it works extremely well. Some people have said they don't like them in mahogany guitars though, mainly becasue of too much lowend. But if you have a brighter piece of wood, it could work.

I'm almost positive that there was a Tone Zone stock when I bought my 3120 (around 1999 I think, and for $1150! Ouch.) I thought that pickup was terrible.

Still, that guitar is like my right arm. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

I tried the Tonezone in several guitars and it instantly turned the tone into a fuzzy loose mess! Got chucked straight out and i never looked back!!

I think I need to pull my pickup out and make sure it is in fact a Tone Zone. The previous owner told me it was, but maybe he was mistaken. Mine sounds friggin great!!!

Who knows, it may sound great in your guitar man! I just know that i tried it in atleast 3 different guitars and it just sucked in every one of them! Really muddy on the low mids and even running it without a tone pot didnt help tighten it up.

That said.. im a Duncan user and have been for a long while now. I never got on with Dimarzios!!

FWIW... i still rate the Suhr Aldrich humbucker as a mega improved Duncan pickup kinda sound. Its killer, and when i get a LP Custom im loading it up with them! My fav pickup!

Nah, the Aldrich would be way too bright in that guitar I think. I'm not sure what I would put in it.
