Hello RT,

I sold a guitar and used the funds to buy a set of Planet Tone humbuckers.

I chose the Pound cake set based on their description and so far am not disappointed!!!

Apparently they have a 'modern EVH' tone to them... Idk what that means but they sound fabulous.

Punchy, open, lots of clarity, warmth, and sustain. Alnico II.

Balanced tonal spectrum, not too much of a hump in any single area. Modern clarity but some vintage sparkle to them. They sound great clean and can have that woody organic middle snap. I am into these.

About 9.2-4 neck and 14.25 bridge.

I designed them from top to bottom. Chose 4 lead conductor for tapping and have that wired up, mostly due to the body already having the holes for the switches so...why not?

These sound great clean but damn do they absolutely rock with gain.

Pics of the guitar, still have to finish mounting the pickup rings.

Added a pic at the bottom to show the color, the guitar is a forest green over ash.

White pole piece bobbins and black slug bobbins .

Black slugs and pole pieces.

I just installed a set of those for a buddy. I really dig them and so does he, though our music tastes could not be further apart. Harmonic, rich, open, airy.... At least they are in the Epi Custom I put them in.

Looking forward to your report. You are the reason I found out about Avatar speakers, so I always give your posts a second glance lol
