I love the mp 1, mine is not modded or anything.
I would rate it as good as anything really.
 
Nice rack. What are the two on the bottom, is one a korg delay?
 
I thought about getting the Cameron version and modding it to sound better. His clips don’t sound that good.
 
his clips are not really a good representation of what they sound like at all. I don't know if it is his speakers or micing technique.
The best clip I have seen was the suicidal one, that is how the superlead sounds.
he uses jj tubes in them also and I hate them, swap those out and I am good to go.
He is a good guy and will build a custom pre for very reasonable money. I think he had mine done in like two days, it mostly sat in customs for two weeks.

kind of similar to the strato channel on the fish i guess, it has more gain and the tone controls have alot more range. I am chasing rust in peace tones with it.
 
I saw a triple giant on cl if you're after that tone the other day.
 
bogner or hafler? what were they asking for it?
on the hunt for a clean 3+ or se.

Hi brother in metal ! How does the Myasnikov compare to the fish ? I'm chasing RIP tones too, but also Slayer's Divine Intervention tone. King and Hanneman used a Fish with a purple/pink 2150 live and in the studio. Bogner Fish was not released yet neither when RIP was produced nor when the Clash of the titans or Oxidation of the nations tours were taking place. My Marshall KK is perfect, yet I'm about to get a VHT2902 and it would be nice to know if the Myasnikov Fish is fine for highgain purposes. If it's close enough to your Bogner Fish then I might I pick one instead of the Superlead.

I don't have the myasnikov fish brown channel pre.
The super lead is not really like the fish brown though I can tell you that.
Rust in peace is bogner triple giant sharp.
Cantrell fish is shark modified to be triple giant sharp, but not exactly the same circuit.

I believe Slayer's Bogner/VHT rack accounted for about 25% of their tone in that era. They blended it in at the soundboard with their usual JCM800s. Also around this time the 800s were modded (don't know by who), then quickly brought back to stock because they didn't like the results. They played one or two shows with the rack setups only, forgoing the JCM800s and hated it so much that they had their 800s shipped to the next show in order to reintegrate into the setup. The rack remained just to fill out the tone a little.

As far as Megadeth I really like the RIP tone as it appears on the record. The RIP demo tracks and live tone on that tour was awful IMO. So thin and castrated ! Mustard-stain preferred one particular, semi-blown not so common 50W Celestion to record in the studio in this era as well.

Yes indeed it was the Triple giant.
Do you find that the Myasnikov is pretty close to the Fish strato channel ?

Also do you think a Maysnikov brown pre could be close enough to Bogner's ?
 
Gary, let's get back to the blown 50w...never heard that before and I'm a huge old school mega d fan from way back.
