wow i think that's one of the coolest music videos i've seen in a long time, simple with just enough flash and effects.

i saw them when they first hit it big in the US and i still think it was one of the best stage shows i've seen with all the fire and sparks and flames. cool stuff!

I flew to Germany to check these guys out (from US) and was wondering if he had some kind of treadmill. He seriously walked on that thing for 45 minutes straight and inbetween songs. They put on one hell of a show.

This is Richard Kruspe's live gear:

Also his guitar is miced with two condenser mics which are going thru 2 Neve or Chandler mic preamps to FOH.
I've seen them live recently and they had very nice live production. I've seen Digico mixer at FOH and L'acoustic K1s for line array speakers. Very nice and clear sounding system. And I don't have to speak much about their show. It was simply amazing.

I actually dig their industrial synthetic sounding guitar tone. Sharp, piercing, tight. The EMG's help with that too.

I wouldn't want that tone 100% of the time, but it defintely has it's place certain music.

It must be supported a lot by the bass and the drums. I guess the tone on its own is mostly mids and A LOT of treble, with just a touch of bass? It's one of the few Recto tones that doesn't have that farty, woofy flubby bass sound- instead it's this seething, mouth-foaming aggressive crunch.
