One of my bands is a paid gig and sometimes I get paid in gear. I acquired this guy, then proceeded to blow it up in 15 minutes. Just had it fixed (bad tubes, wrong value mains fuse replaced and new filter caps, because might as well).

It's a 1990 JCM800 1987. Factory orange tolex. I had it cranked for a bit before it blew and well... it sounded like a 4 holer should.

I probably won't use it much. My Friedman is king, but a nice addition. I'm sure it will get some action with my Suhr Reactive load IR

That is super rare, I don’t think I’ve even seen a factory red or orange JCM800 1959 before, especially with a matching cabinet.

Yeah as others said these aren’t all that special tonally without a boost. I stuck an SD-1 in front of a jcm800 1959 and it was nuts awesome.

Congrats!

Apparently, it was a custom build for a dude from a UK band named Thunder

Gary Moore’s fav Marshall was a 71 Superbass. His second fav was a JCM 800 1959.
Killer amps.
