As much as I was excited about the prospect of new Ratt  , I think it is crap :aww: . Nice guitar playing. Will definately see live. Definately NOT buying album, unless the other tracks are better. However, if that's their opening bet...
Worst show I ever saw was Ratt in '85 at the San Jose Civic. You could not hear a single thing they were playing, the amps kept cutting out and pearcy was just screaming instead of singing. It was pure noise. I left after a few songs. Absofuckinglutely terrible.

Some bands are better left to history instead of getting back together and trying to relive the past. This is one of them.

Here is the thing for me and just keep in mind that this is just my opinion.......
It's no secret that I love 80's style music and Ive actually kept up with what has been going on with that style over the years (some people have and others have not..but none the less.. it has been kept alive by many bands)
The point I'm making is that It's great to see when an older band keeps true to their roots but here the problem for me....... And I'll remind you again... this is just my opinion!!

If you go to http://www.melodicrock.com or NEH records there are band on those sites who have missed the 80's boat so to speak but have put out some killer records. I dare to say that I have albums that came out in the mid 90's and 2000 that kicked the shit out of some of the 80's mainstream bands. I hate to say this but that tune isn't in the same league as some of the band on those sites. Im not saying that it has to be and it's great that Ratt is still playing but methinks that some of these guys should go and listen to what others have done with the genre before they forge ahead. IMHO Winger got it right ;)

yes, I know maybe its just me and we are talking 80's music here lol

And another pet peave of mine is....... Why is it that every 80's guitar player who I used to love has to turn the fucking phaser on for a solo these days!! :hys:

All kidding asside that's just my 0.02.

Let's just say that I'm glad that I love many genres of music!!

I actually didn't care for some of the new TNT stuff. I used to hold Ronnie's tone in my top 10 list and when I heard his new Crate tone, It kind of left me cold lol. I stopped buying anything from them after my religion.

Ah.... nevermind...

Steve

No respect for Blackie? The king of disturbed teenage boy fans?
I was more referring to this new Ratt opus...

Steve

It is very bubble-gummy, I'm sure they will attract a lot of older men to their shows singing along to this one.
I won't be one of them.

Steve

I'm a Ratt/DeMartini fan and will probably get it.

Is it just me, but what's with Percy's voice sounding somewhat like Vince Neil on this recording??

Ratt has always been a mediocre to bad live act..

Having seen them on their first 3 tours they never blew anyone away...I caught them two summers ago at a fair and they were just awful..

Gainfreak is right...there are alot of bands releasing stuff that is in the melodic rock 80's mode..but much better than the current dinosaurs..

W.E.T. and Outloud! come to mind...actually most stuff on frontiers records is of pretty high quality

This new Ratt has about as much weight as MIley Cyrus or THe Jonas brothers with much worse singing and even more autotune!

Invasion of the cut-out bin!

Was that a cheesy rip-off of "Jump"?

I love Ratt...but this is not Ratt...they need Beau Hill.

The chorus is Poisons "ride the wind"....One of the only 80's bands that has put out anything that can hold a candle to their hey day work is the Scorpions...if you havent heard Humanity Hour 1..check it out,

I've always been a huge Warren fan; Carlos is great too(got to tech for him for a QR summer tour in '02), both really cool guys. Warren's tone is amazing as usual.

You kind of know what you're getting with Pearcy, so you either like it enough to listen to it for Warren or you don't. LMAO @ the South Park character reference, though - never thought about that, but now that you mention it...

In defense of Ratt the ep through Invasion of Your Privacy were GOLD in Jr. High!

Warren was so good we put up with Pearcy

I opened for Quiet Riot a billion years ago...

Carlos loaned a guys JCM 900...he put that thing on 10 and proceeded to RIP

I also got to check out his cool 70's cream flying v with the snake skin strap that was the envy of every Circus Magazine reader!

I actually owned Carlos's Star Licks cassette and book

QR did that entire summer tour I worked for them on as fly-outs, playing their personal instruments through a rented backline (two JCM800/900s for Carlos, two SVTs for Rudy) and kicked ass every night. Helped them out again a few times in '06 (with Alex Grossi on guitar, Sean McNabb and then Chuck Wright on bass - all cool guys I still keep in touch with), same setup.

But one of (many) cool parts was it was my job to hang on to the instruments in my hotel room after each show; Carlos, being totally cool and knowing I'm a complete guitar freak says "Hey, if you wanna practice nights you're working for us, you can play my guitars all you want." How cool is that? His Green Sparkle Custom Shop Jackson Soloist plays like a dream...also has my favorite, R5 1 3/4" nut width neck!
