New Rig Day! Crate Blue Voodoo 60 w/ V30 Cab

Posted in here the other day about the blue voodoo half stack. Decided, for $400, why the hell not.

Picked it up last night and plugged in at a moderate volume. Fizz city, good Lord. For once, the internet didn't exaggerate.

Today, the misses left the house for a bit. I swapped an old usa 12au7 in the pi for shits and giggles, cranked it up and was actually somewhat impressed. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I could definitely make it work.

The low end is slightly soggy. Tighten that up, maybe add a resonance control and give the amp a little more upper kidnpresence and it could be pretty damn good!

If its $200 or less go for it. If not, I'd pass. This one sounds better than I'd thought, but I still aint using it over a good Splawn lol

Actually, yes. I compared it with my Mesa Traditional cab using my 5150 50w Stealth last night.

Much to my surprise, I preferred the Crate. They were very similar overall, but the crate seemed to have a little more punch in the low end and a little more high end clarity, probably due to the grill cloth materials.

Even if the amp goes, the cab will definitely stay. Impressed by that one.

im always telling people look out for these cabs, they are as good as anything out there and you can find them for $200 all day
