Well, I've had the Blackstar and Avatar for a couple weeks now, but the Suhr just arrived yesterday morning. When I saw it for sale, I just had to buy it. It's easily the most ridiculous looking guitar I've ever owned and I'm absolutely loving it so far. The quilt on it is crazy, but it plays and sounds even better than it looks. The stainless steel frets and the fretwork itself are immaculate and it just feels so smooth. It weighs almost nothing but it sounds huge. Extremely clear and warm, almost like the hollow Anderson Drop Top I used to have, only WAY thicker and fuller. I still can't believe this thing is made of basswood, which I normally hate with a passion. Must be a combination of the quilted maple on top, the quality of the woods, and the Aldrich pickups. I've been wanting to try these pickups for a while and they seem to live up to all the hype, especially if they're making basswood sound this good. They also clean up really well which is awesome. I haven't been this excited about a guitar since my GMW DeMartini. I think I actually like this one more because of the versatility and how stunning it is.
As for the Blackstar and Avatar cab, I'm really impressed with both of them as well. I put a NOS RFT tube in the Blackstar and with a boost in front, it sounds killer. Very Marshall-esque, even though I have the ISP knob set on the "American" side. It works really well with the Greenback loaded Avatar cab. Lots of crunch and a nice warm tone. Definitely having a ton of fun with this rig so far. The only thing missing is a Boss RV-3, but I have one of those on the way. I also like the fact that I don't need a noisegate with this amp.
Now for the pics.
