Really digging that track!

Energy was a badass track, this one maybe even a little better. THIS is the Satriani I've always loved to listen to. He kind of got pretentious there for a number of years with the whole blues thing and overly-thematic stuff, but this has been a masterpiece so far.

Definitely one of my all time faves, first concert I ever saw, but damn if I’m not digging this. Still has the overly theatrical thing of recent years, and the lead guitar was nothing remarkable. Disappointed because I love him and don’t know why he’s not being more innovative. Hope he didn’t phone in the rest of the tracks on the new album.

How did you like his last two or three albums?

Gawd damn!!!!!!

This is good, very good. I love it.

Opening riff is pretty bad ass man.

I like the tone but to be honest, I listened to the whole thing waiting for him to do a crazy lead break that would floor me or would be super melodic. It never came.. the whole guitar instrumental thing is kind of old though, what's left to really do melody wise? There are only a few guys I can still listen to doing it. Vinnie Moore is always solid but even he can feel repetitive after a while. Good for Satch that he still loves making music and touring though. I think Chicken Foot is some of the best stuff he did in recent history.

It might have not been a wild, fast solo, but man was it tasteful.

Main riff is very Bonamassa style. With more treble.

Like his lead phrasing. Cool.

Not much. The last album I though was worth the listen was Prof Satch.

I do agree with the post above that the phrasing in the new track was tasty. The farty, wooly tone not so much.

Yep, Professor Satchifunkilus was his last gem until this album.

I liked it!
Nice riff, at least he's not singing on this one ;)

Ha! Flying in a Blue Dream... yeah. Back in those days, that album was a compromise because you had to tolerate the singing to hear all the guitar wizardry. Kind of like the queer singing in Eric Johnson's Desert Rose -- one of the most badass solos ever played, but over one of the gayest songs ever written -- I always fast forward over the vocals and go right to the solos.

Flying was a masterpiece from start to finish, singing and all. I listened to that album so kany times it's crazy. The singing fits the songs perfectly.

My favorite.

I can't agree about the singing, but indeed it was a masterpiece album.
