Just out of curiosity and Cheapness... How close do the Jet City 50 and 100 watt heads get to a real soldano? ive heard arguments both ways..

A few guys around the forums who have owned a Soldano Hot Rod+ and a Jet City 50/100 will say they are about 95% the same in terms of tone. Do an "SLO" mod on those Jet City amps and it'll really come to life.

But to be honest, forget about what the Jet City amps sound like, and focus on how they sound (which is pretty damn good ). I've owned my JCA100H for almost 3 years now and I absolutely love the thing. I did the "SLO" and depth mod on it about a month ago and I couldn't be happier.

Sweet ive been eyeing the 50 and 100 watt heads that they have out and for around $400-$500 you can get one which is ridiculously cheap for something that sounds so good, from the clips and youtube video's.

No that was out in Beaverton. We'll have to put something together.

I currently own a SLO (lucky recent find). I previously had 2 Decatones, an HR50+ and an HR100+ along with SP77's and another SLO. The HR and Decatone are cool amps. I'd say they get ya 85% of the way there. They cop the vibe. But the other 5% or 15% difference( in my opinion ) are what makes the SLO the SLO and others not the SLO. The only way to discern it is playing them side by side.

Whether that is close enough is up to individual taste. For me, it wasn't close enough but each of the amps have their place and bring something cool to the table. And I agree, use your ears not your eyes and what it is supposed to sound like. But don't buy any of the others expecting to get a SLO. You aren't.

Having said that, my favorite Soldano "sound" is the crunch channel of the Decatone gain maxed. That surprised me.

My playing blows on both the SLO and the others. Though the SLO, I just sound better

I agree, why not have one in the Manufacturers Forums. How about it Brad. I wont mention names but a Soldano forum will get more hit's then some of them that are there now.
