I recorded a new song a few weeks ago and forgot to put it up here. This is different from my typical "metal" stuff. Went with a rock/blues kind of thing. Here is the gear I used:

- Mexican Charvel (Fender single coil neck pickup)
- Keeley D&M Pedal as boost
- Friedman JJ Jr. (XLR out)

Sorry for my ugly mug in the photo. Have to look "deep" to get the ladies.....

Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about! LOL! I need a suit too..... :D

Great sounds all around, sounds pro but not cookie cutter blues rock either. Did you also play the bass line? So solid and tasty, really drives the tune.

Appreciate it man! Yeah, I did the bass too. That is my USA Fender Jazz bass and I run it into a Sansamp Bass DI. Really get a great sound with that combo.

Great job all around man

High quality for sure. Got a nice SRV vibe goin' there.

Thanks dude! I should have put a bit of Texas snarl in my voice to add to the SRV vibe. :) It is crazy, when I record I don't really know what it will sound like to others. I know what I'm hearing, but always cool when you guys chime in on the tones or whatever.

Recording and playing has been a lifesaver during all of this COV-19 crap.

Sounds great ! Push the vocals up a tiny bit in the mix though.

Thanks man! Yeah that is my "if vocal is crappy they won't hear it" vibe. LOL! It is funny because the first vocal song I ever did last year, I posted on the forum and my vocal was too loud in the mix.

Just my 2 cents, but most bluesy stuff (among other genres) have the vocals mixed too high. I like where you have yours in the mix.

:)

sounds good man. very wide sounding mix

Appreciate it dude! Yeah, years ago I would pan my guitars at 40% to 50% and then last year I saw this video about how it is best to pan at 90% each way. Really opens up the middle for the bass, vocals, etc. It is crazy how little things make a difference with recordings.

Outstanding job man! You kinda have an early Ian Moore vibe going on. Voice and all.

Thanks man! I gotta check him out.

I wish more people would do their own recordings. It takes some work but definitely doable for anyone.
