Just got my Sourmash headshell for my 2204. Man this thing turned out great. I originally had some Mullard EL34's but swapped them out for Ruby tubes today and it was an improvement. So Im really happy with how everything has turned out on this amp. I'm trying to log in as much playing time as possible over the next couple days before shipping it off to be modded. I jammed around with some lower gain stuff like Interpol, Pixies, JAMC and a few other bands I really like that I dont play as often as I should. In addition to getting it modded for high gain I'm going to have a Metro loop put in to replace the insert loop that Ceriatone put in. Besides being handwired it also has external bias points and a half power switch so I have high hopes for the finished product.

Anyway if you need a headshell I definitely recommend Sourmash. Im glad they were recommended to me.

Looks great Clint! Congrats  I am assuming they offer a wide selection of tolex and piping.

Yeah man. I was thinking of grabbing a headshell from Splawn or Mojotone but went with Sourmash after it being recommended then seeing another member here's post who recently grabbed one. They have a few unloaded cab variations as well that has me tempted.

I want to get a cab specifically for this head once it's finished. Sourmash has a 1936 style cab but it looks to be better constructed. More than likely I'm going to go with another KSR 2x12 with the vintage check grill cloth with Greenbacks or a Splawn 2x12 with the same cosmetics but Creamback 65's.

Nice! I definitely see more in the future for me.

Interesting, it looks like sort of a cross between a 70’s JMP 2204 head shell and an older super lead headshell. I don’t know why but I’ve always liked the JMP 2200 headshell look even though I kinda find the corner protectors a little clunky and ugly looking at the same time. I like it better than the headshell a from the 800/900/DSL series.

Very nice looking! Cheers! I was one of the guys who recommended Splawn. Equally nice work. May I ask approximately what you paid? I am looking at getting one done for my 1974x and am curious. As odd and untraditional as it sounds I am kind of looking for a jubilee looking shell. Just something different.

Oddly enough Splawn is local to me but I went with Sourmash in Florida. It ran $210 plus shipping which I believe was $35. The logo was optional but cost 25. I think Splawn charges $250 plus shipping so there was a bit of a savings

I was going for the JMP2203 look so I'm really happy with these results. I'm not 100% but I think he does Jubilee and 800 style as well. I'm not really a fan of the 800 shell.

I do believe I'm going to stick with KSR when I get a cab for it. Kyle always takes really good care of me and his quality is too notch. My second choice is a Splawn 2x12. Either company I'm going to go with vintage check

Now I got to finish working on my V2 Caldera for the next couple of days so I can ship this amp off without missing it too bad.

Putting Classictone transformers was the way to go on this. I think if I pull the trigger on a Molecular I will follow the same format as this amp (assembled kit, add transformers and headshell )
