The guys at USACG are people that worked at Warmoth and decided to start their own business. I know most of them. They mass produce bodies and necks for companies around the world. If you want to spend the money they will pretty much make anything you want. One being better than the other is pretty subjective.

Build looks pretty nice. I'm thinking about doing a Strat myself.

I was going to buy a Varius strat, but I might just use that to get some parts from USAGC. The thing is that Warmoth always has deals on ready to go parts, so it's hard to beat their prices. If USAGC has the right price, I'll be posting a build soon.

My Father recently sold his home and I found the original pickups and pick guard to my 1969 Strat in the attic. It was in boxes I boxed up in Michigan in 1986. This guitar is going back to stock.

I'm taking the EMG DG20 off it and building a modern guitar around it.

I'm also redoing the electronics on my Les Paul.

I'm kind of thinking mahogany body and neck. Ebony fret board. But it's all up in the air right now. Probably won't start in for a few months. Too much other stuff going on right now.

I've got one with a mahogany body and padouk neck. I highly recommend mahogany for strat bodies, but keep in mind that they do sound a little different. Mahogany bodies work great with all kinds of neck woods, so you don't have to be afraid of using bright woods like ebony or walnut. It's not a dark sounding wood though.

#3 is far superior.

That one is causing me to vacillate a bit. I like natural wood colors. However, I'm actually thinking of doing a duplicolor spray can paint job for a matte finish and a gloss black middle strip across the body. There's a video of it on Youtube and I think it looks fantastic.
