I was looking for the candy red one, but got a fantastic deal on this one. Before they marked it as sold, it said these were pics of the actual guitar. I don't know if I would have bought it if the Rosewood wasn't nice and dark. Anyone ever compared the V70 single-coils vs the V60LP? The output looks pretty low, so not sure how they'll balance with the SSV bridge. My white Suhr has the V60LP's and they're a little bit below output than I think would balance well with the SSV. I also think the V60LP is a little dark for the neck position, and the V70 looks like it might have a nice vintage treble voicing, so maybe that will be good.

The V70s will definitely have more bite and high end. You probably know the V60LP stands for low resonant peak. They will balance nicely with the SSV. Although I like just a tad more heat than what the SSV provides. If you are playing through a high gain amp it’s not an issue

Yeah, I've learned a few things about DC resistance, resonant peak, output mv, etc. over the years. I know that generally the higher output the darker pickups can be. Specs for the V70 say it's resistance is 5.5-5.7 range or something, and the videos sound like it has a classic single-coil shimmer, so that seems more in vintage 50's-60's specs doesn't it?

Congrats. I love that blue.

Thanks man. Candy colors are great. I didn't realize this but their website says this model is limited edition. I guess they'll discontinue the candy colors? I know candy finishes are harder to do than basic colors, but not sure why they'd make it limited edition. Anyway, I guess that's all cool.

Dig the color. Is that snowflake blue?

It's not a flake finish. That's not my style. However, it is very similar to the tie in your avatar, and that is very cool. Flake finishes were most popular from 2008 to 2016, but they've since died out and now the color of that tie is very much in style ;)

Congrats, Suhr's are great guitars.
Have you received the guitar yet or just ordered it today? I'm curious if the fretboard is as dark in person as it is in the pics.

Oh, it looks like it has a little sparkle in the pics. Love the specs on Suhrs but I could never get over the hideous headstocks.

It already shipped. Should be here in a few days. I'll post some good pics (but no review this time). If you're interested in one, I could tell you who gave me the best deal.

Well it's a candy blue color, so it's kind of a metallic finish. The headstocks aren't for everyone, but considering that Suhr is so widely popular to the point where millions of people pay their huge price tags to own them, it can't be that hideous. :2thumbsup: But hey, to each his own right? Some people think fat women are most attractive. I prefer something more streamlined like the Suhr headstock, but I can respect that you have a unique taste.

Congrats! I swore I wasn't going to buy another one until I got mine back from having the neck replaced, but posts like these aren't helping. Enjoy it!

You mean warped? Was it a quartersawn neck or something exotic?

Quarter-sawn maple. Sorry, didn't mean to derail the thread. Happy NGD!

Congrats! One of these days, I would love to get a Suhr. The Pete Thorn sig model looks so damn nice.
