New Suhr Doug Aldrich prototype amp

The cell phone vid sounded good enough to me... i mean it sounds like Aldrich. The amps cut and are almost like razors and that is the way he likes his gain. Let's be honest though guys, once again, a JCM800 with his Rocket Fuel pedal is going to get plenty gain enough. There, I just saved you 2,500$. Furthermore, an SD-1 will run you a 900$ JCM800 + a 40$ pedal. Your welcome, greatest rock tones ever!

and this is through a bloaty amp (in my opinion)

2:30 of this one...

You could probably get there with a $500 DSL50 too. Just new expensive stuff always is fun too.

Found this video on youtube, I was actually at this gig, for some reason the cab wasn't mic'd that night, guitar was only audible if you were standing in front of Doug's side of the stage, he had the Suhr amp underneath the Marshall, not sure which one he was plugged into that night but I'm guessing they probably sound similar, the Marshall was probably also modded by Suhr

I didn't like that tone from the phone vid. How was it in the room?

I thought it was ok, but lacked fullness since it wasn't going through the p.a.

I think what Bato is trying to say is that he tried to add his own picture to his post and couldn't for whatever reason.

I have a new SE-100 at the house and currently for sale! Yes, it's Suhr's Aldrich MOD and tone for sure.

It's only a single channel though and I'm a multi-channel player. Yes, it's pricey at $4,000 from Suhr and stores. I'm only looking for $3,250 including shipping and insured and all original and in the box, so should sell quick at that price. I have it posted on Reverb and in the classifieds if anyone is interested and at a discounted price. Sounds killer thou!!

Agree as well. I bought a new SL-68 about 2 years ago, and it was kind of a head scratcher. It just didn't sound to me like 3k worth of amp. I have the real deal 68' super lead (80 serial numbers away from the EVH 12,000 head), and the two just didn't seem even close. Took a bath selling the Suhr. Maybe should have tried an SE. This does look interesting tho. Anyone know if there are clips?

what didnt you like about the sl-68 compared to the real deal?

Right! Sorry guys. I'm on a ship cruise (Loveboat :D). It's a little bit difficult with the Internet and uploading pictures. I'll post the pic asap when I'm back.
The pic is my 76 JMP and a 76 cab.

I am going to see the dead daisies next month when they open for Kiss.
Pretty excited to check out the new amp in full glory.

Here we go:

Unfortunately the 76 checkerboard cab isn't mine. A friend of mine borrowed it to me because can't use it at the moment. But he won't sell it to me although he dislikes it. But believe me, the cab sounds gorgeous! It's the perfect match and the perfect half stack. I'll won't stop trying to buy it.
