I tried out a Small Box head through a Friedman 4x12 today, and it sounded fantastic. But I guess you know that already, right ?!
Question: I currently have a Cornford 2x12 fitted with vintage 30s. Will I be disappointed playing through this 2x12 ?, compared to the 4x12, or will it (hopefully!) be subtle small tonal difference and the amp will still sound amazing.
I don't fancy transporting a 4x12. I'm not getting any younger....
I guess the next step would be to take the 2x12 to the shop and do an AB comparison.
I also tried out the BE-100, but for me (70s classic rock) the Small Box sounded better, more open..not as compressed. Difficult to describe gtr. tone in words...
thanks
