Interesting. Has potential. Apparently, it's based on another old tune. Did Eddie write anything recently on this cd?
Not sure I agree with the reviewer who said about this tune....

As someone who lists Eddie as a huge influence.... I think history will say that Van Halen should have stopped making records after the Balance album. There are simply too many other great bands now to justify spending money on this album based off of the songs I have heard. Some of the older bands, like Rush still crank out a quality album with every new release. This new VH album is just very uninspiring from the clips I've heard. Just my two cents. YMMV...

This is a retooled old tune, "Ripley." Has a "Little Guitars" feel to it.
I like this better than "Tattoo" - that's for sure.

I have huge expectations for this new cd, this song does nothing for me. Maybe it gets better as it moves along, I don't like what I'm hearing in that clip. On CSI tonight there is supposed to be another song clip and a clip of TATTOO which we all heard already.

I like VH. I am *not* an EVH fanboi. Having said this, I think it is cool. VERY little of any Van Halen album has not come from bits and pieces that he has had lying around. That's how many people write. It's always how Ed has written. Who cares if he steals from his own songs. AC/DC has been playing ONE SONG since 1975. People seem to give them a pass all day long.
Some people are expecting some timewarp back to "greatness" from VH 1 through 1984. It ain't gonna happen. Nobody replicates their earlier fire or success.

I think it's a decent rock tune. Dave's voice is a little rough these days, but considering his age I guess it's better than nothing.

I didn't expect there would be at least three old demos that were reworked w/ new lyrics. As a self-professed "huge" fan, it's a bit strange hearing some of the old songs that way because they have been bootleg Easter eggs for fans for years and now they are different tunes altogether. That said, I do like the preview of Blood & Fire, so far.
Hope there is completely new material somewhere on the album.

there is a guy on youtube who redid it already with a better guitar tone. dude rocks..you have to find it though cause im stupid.
