new Wizard vid clip : Updated Wizard MC II // Bogner Helios

BUMP, 2 clips from 2 incredible amps using a new condenser usb mic i just picked up. (Shure MOTIV88).
 
id take the wizard here, though i think if the bogner was a little brighter id take that. where did you place the mic?? i bought one of them years ago and never even tried it, i probably should do that lol

Hey,

I actually have the exact same mic location for each amp, so that is interesting that one amp comes out slightly darker then.. weird.

I have the condenser mic directly on grill about halfway between center of speaker cone and edge of speaker. Mid way between, and I suppose I could have done searching live monitoring wise to find a bit brighter of a spot for the Helios, but I recorded the Wizard first and liked how it sounded so rolled with it.

Thanks, appreciate each and every listen and person whom makes the effort to comment that enjoys it. I've debated continually making more on my own little channel experimenting with closer to speaker cone for more brightness or further off the grill for more 'in the room' sounds etc. Either way it is really awesome and fun to hear it when monitoring.
 
Helios sounds like it has a blanket over the cab. What were treble and presence settings? Seems more saturated in a good way.

Mic positioning the same for both amps, so it makes sense one may sound diff than the other. The Bogner def is brighter than clip demonstrated, i bet if i moved it a half inch to the right closer to the speaker cone it would be 'too bright'. Treble was 2 o clock and presence like 11 o clock if memory serves me correctly. You can tell it is in there despite the clip, that amp can easily be brighter.
 
Ah, I didn’t even think of using this thing to close mic, I got it as a in the room thing. Next rainy day i gotta mess with it

I made this one for you dude lol

Settings can be seen in the vid, I shifted the mic like an inch to the right, and on the grill. Brighter sounds came through

Much better clarity on the Helios with that slight adjustment.

Sounds tits!!! Very nice. Matched the MCII brightness with that extra saturation. VERY nice. Thx!

Well i am relieved that you approve of it now lol haha j/k around.

It is intriguing to me, that the Wizard inch to the left away from cone came out as bright as Helios inch to the right closer. Good learning curve for me on how the mic position picks up each amp sounds differently. I am now betting the Wizard comes through monsterously where the mic sits.
