i'm starting to get a better handle on how to corral this pony:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2mJ_xX7gNc

definitely try to watch the "high quality" version of the clip.

my friend brad is playing while i flit around working the recording levels...

this is one amazing rig!

GREAT job by Brad playing and YOU- my friend have got capturing the tones DOWN to a science.

You guys RAWK!!!!

It's awesome, but slightly misleading. ;)

let me explain:

1. Great player = good note choices = impressive to watch regardless of rig.

2. Egnater MICA 100 = one of the best preamp/power amp heads ever created = automatic good tone.

Zach is awesome, and I like the 6100 Marshall, but this vid is showing how transparent and awesome Zach's fx rack is since it's a different amp and a different player.

a Mica 100 through a 2290 and 1210 is always going to sound good with a great player. Plus, this switching system is the best in the business.

My only beef is: it's going to sound "different" with a 6100 and a different player.

So, I guess I'm saying it's killer, but I'd like to hear how Zach's playing responds with a 6100 and the rack.

I am looking forward to getting it back and hooking up all 4 amps ('65 Fender Super Reverb, Mesa MKIII Coliseum, Marshall 6100, Mojave Peacemaker)--and dialing the rack in.

To answer your question, Yes-- it'll sound different (different amps, cabs, power amp and preset patches{in some cases}) + I'll have the Eventide H8000FW back in the rack. :D ;)

I'll let Pat tell you what he was using for the wet and dry stuff- besides his TOL 100 (Not the MICA version BTW) Scary stuff...

I can't wait to hear some clips of that rack with the Mark III Coliseum. I've wanted a Mark IIC+ or III Coliseum for over a decade now since I had the opportunity to play a IIC+ Coli.

Regardless, all the vids that have been posted of the rig show it sounding great.

Awesome rig Zach. :D

Crate.
the leaders in guitar tone reinforcement.

:salute:

dude i could use two wheezing dwarfs with bullhorns as my wet "speakers" and it would still sound like angels connected to this rig-
but i shudder to think how i'd plug them in. :inlove:

Thanks... I can't wait to get goofy with this thing with all the components together either. ;)

Here is a recording Pat did of me playing the rig w/ the MKIII Coli, using the VS880 before I gave it a face lift. (The processors were the same 2290 and PCM-80, and an Intellifex)

It'll be connected to this when it gets home: (The '65 BF Fender Super Reverb head isn't in this pic, but it'll be in the equation)

Awesome rig Zach. :D

that's instant sykes/whitesnake in a box. or satriani/surfing. or gillis/ozzy years. or nuno/graphitti. basically the best of modern rock/metal tones.

and that's the scariest thing of all about this rig.

vintage fender blackface super reverb hendrix/srv/johnson tones with or without bluesy pedals, mojave brown sounds with boost, mxr flange or phase, marshall spitfire british punch, and mesa mark III simul-coli modern clean or grind.

as straight or as chorused/pitch modulated/verb and delay drenched as humanly tolerable.

....just one button press away. :hys:

Damn. Now I wanna cry. I haven't had a GAS attack this bad in YEARS! Do you hear me!? YEARS!!!

That tone, is phenomenal. Thanks for throwing that up man. Now I must track down a IIC+ or III Coliseum head.

Also, thanks mentoneman for making the killer vids of the rig. Very inspiring for all tone junkies. :D

Thanks  Every now and again, I see a MKIII Coliseum on evilbay. IMO, the MKIII Coliseums sound better than the MKII Coliseums.
