Excuse me if this topic has already been covered, but I have a question regarding tube replacement for Diezel amps. If I use a graded tube such as Groovetubes of the same type in the Herbert or Einstein, do I need to have the amp re-biased every time I put in a fresh set? I know that you can use all different types and whatnot, however I'm not really into that. I usually just stick with whatever comes stock in the rig and EQ to my taste. Thanks in advance!

peace,

Hi Jesserides!

I have a Herbert & have had fun experimenting with different tube configurations both pre-amp & powertubes. Yes, you should rebias every time you replace powertubes. After trying many different types, I have come to the conclusion that the stock tube configuration sounds the best! Mr Diezel knows what he is doing and gave us the latitude to be able to change tube types but I personally feel he put the Rubys in (especially the pre-amp tubes) because the ROCK! Peter was looking for preamp tubes with certain specs based on his design and the Rubys fit the bill.
