Not as bright as one might think. They're actually super heavy and the bodies are pretty thick so I think that gives them a bit more heft and not just an overly bright or thin tone. Two of them have an added tone circuit. All in all I'd put these up against a mahogany / rosewood guitar and they'd hold their own.
