NGD: 1987 Ibanez RG550

Just got this in the other day. I bought it because I really like the way these guitars look and I'm gonna try to get it sounding good with a pickup swap. The stock pickups sound pretty awful, but I have a JB/59 set that will hopefully fix that problem. The road flare red color is pretty blinding in person. I didn't expect it to be so bright.

I can't see anything wrong with the bridge, so I'm not sure what your fine tuner problem is. I'd have to look at it in person to fix it. Don't forget that you're missing the string tree, and what's up with the huge gash behind the locking nut?

What gash? I think that's just a reflection or something you're seeing. The neck has a good amount of wear, but I expected it to considering it's 22 years old.

Looks great!! I REALLY wish those necks were thicker. Like... Twice as thick. I've had a couple RG550's and I liked them a lot, but just can't deal with a neck that thin.

I do hate most of them, but this one was real cheap and they do look great.

Yeah, probably because they're made of real wood unlike these plywood eyesores.
