Well damn it, I'm in Charlotte for business and decided to go kill some time in Sam Ash. BAD FUCKING DECISION! Needless to say, a chunk of change later, I'm bringing home this pretty thing.

1995 PRS Custom 22
W/F Neck
Birds
Dragon 1 Pickups w/ 5-way
Trem
Royal Blue with a beautiful light fade

Looks just like Mikael Akerfeldt's before he got his signature guitar. Very cool!

He uses it for down-tuned songs now, I believe. It can be seen on their first 2 DVD's

Great score, someday I hope to have one, maybe a DGT or a newer single cut. Looks like a beaut, happy git-fiddling!

Very nice! How much did it set you back? I almost bought the same one once (online) but one guy beat me to it.

Wow, that's awesome! Love the way the black pickup rings don't call attention away from the beautiful top!

It looks to be whale blue though.

Its royal. Whale has natural binding and a black back. This one has a trans blue back and a wrap around finish. PMs sent about money.

Thanks for the compliments guys and gals!

This is by far my favorite PRS model/option combination. I love the wide fat neck and overall feel!

Very nice score    I like those wide-fat necks, they feel perfect to me
congrats

Makes me miss my '93 black cherry CU22 with the exact same specs.

Nice. I've actually never owned a PRS :dunno:

Looks sweet though, congrats on the new guitar day

sexy top!

Thanks! You wouldn't beleive that it isn't a ten top. Pictures don't capture how great it looks. I imagine part of it's beauty is the slight fade, as Royal blue is real dark normally and it can bury nice figure.

Was she faded? I'd love to track that down! The red fades are killer!

I've fallen in love with the quality and feel of PRSi guitars. After playing a ton of MUCH cheaper stuff and making them work, it's as if I went from eating chop steak to black angus rib eye! They aren't for everyone, as they have a unique sonic voice and feel, but when you find one that works, IT WORKS!

Mine wasnt faded, nice and dark cherry with black back.

I still say PRS guitars are the best feeling out there! My hands are just too big and get stuck between the horn and the body when I go for the last few frets. Otherwise I would still own one.

Ah, I hear ya. My hands are large as well, but I seem to do fine with them. Everyone is different though. I tried to bond with a Custom 24 with a w/t and it was a little akward. I seem to fall right in with Custom 22s though.

Oooooh! Very covert! :poke:

Lmao. Do you post up what you paid for any of your gear on New gear day posts? I paid what I felt it was worth. I'll say this, the asking price was 1999.99 and I feel I got a good deal on my negotiated price.
