NGD! 2013 Gibson SG Standard

I grew up playing SG's, I stopped being in bands and opened up to what kind of guitars I played, most recently I went on an EVH kick - I decided to move home to place I grew up recently, and now I feel I'm coming full circle... I finally sold my USA Wolfgang, and went to guitar center - I was eyeing a used 61" reissue, and then saw this one... I always liked the smaller pick guards and the necks on the 61" reissues... So the new 13" Standards was a no brainer. I went back and forth with this one and the reissue, and they both felt almost exactly the same.... Same pickups, I'm thinking outside the headstock and the tuners there really isn't much difference... And I had a 15% off coupon I got in NJ before I left.. For a hurricane sandy sale that they were having, and they honored it here... So I ended up grabbing it brand new for a little over $1100... Killer guitar.. Sorry, for the lack of description, but I think it's a welcomed change to the SG Standard... It's the first Gibson guitar I've owned in a minute, and it's awesome... I'm stoked to be back to having a Gibson, it's going to fight with my wolfgang custom as my main axe..

What pickups are in your SG?
What is a 13" SG?
 
Looks a lot bigger than 13 inches to me... Course I am a guy...rofl

57 classics. I meant 2013 SG

Gotcha. So how are you liking the 57 classics compared to the Peavey or EVH Wolfgang pickups?

Gt my first SG and my second gibson ever recently. Has an LP for. All of two weeks , hated it , too slow, got rid of it immediately.

Grabbed this SG based on the killer deal I got. It was scratch and dent for a dead pickup, turned out to be a dead pot.

I can't believe how awesome this guitar is, thin 61 neck, snarly p90 s and the lack of finish, it just has a small amount of hand rubbed nitro, makes it the most tone full resonant guitar I own.

Strangest thing is laying while sitting with it, kind of odd. Gotta stand up and windmill.

I'm also really excited that gibson is making a ton of lefties right now.

I was thinking about another but couldn't find one that had the neck specs of the 60's tribute I got. The standard has the 60's neck and pickguard? Ill have to look at them more I'd like a dual humbucker next.

I was excited to get one of these because of the smaller pick-guard but I didn't gel with the neck shape they've gone with in 2013. :cry:
