I appreciate LP's...love there tone, but never get geeked over them for some reason. But,...this mutha is bad ass.

Well done!

Awesome man! Congrats! You may be the only other person on the forum that has one! My 68RI isn't aged though, so I'll have to wait for mine to age gracefully!

If you have a chance, see if you are able to weigh yours and post up the numbers! I've heard that all of the Pelham Blue 68RIs were SUPPOSED to be chambered, but since I have access to an x-ray machine, you can see here that it's completely solid!

Where did you find your Pelham Blue LPC?

Do you know what that bright spot on the opposite side of the control cavity is? I've noticed the same thing on one of my LPs as it was rolling through an X-ray at an airport and I was really surprised and confused by it.

Found mine on reverb. This is the 07 reissue. Should be chambered but it's the ebony board. Been after this model in this color for 4 or 5 years now. They don't come up terribly often, I've missed out on getting one due to other purchases or just bad timing on a few occasions in recent years. I got this one on reverb within a few hours of it popping up. Gonna have to move something else now...

That looks like the "foot" on the bottom of the case. Not part of the guitar.

They're the round, metal scratch protectors on the bottom of the case.

I was a little freaked out by that bright white spot too! Originally, I thought it may be the microchip Gibson puts in their guitars. I was completely relieved to know that those white spots are parts of the case and not parts of the guitar!

That's awesome man! These are definitely rare! I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 pop up for sale in the last few years. Your guitar is most likely chambered and it will definitely have an ebony fingerboard. If your guitar is like mine, it will have a super thick neck. Like, bigger than a '59 neck.

My Pelham Blue is a 2005, and mine could possibly be the first 68RI to be painted in Pelham Blue! I called Gibson to get any information about it since I'm not the original owner, and they said they didn't offer his color back in 2005. Gibson had a program where you could order a 68RI, and you could specify the color you wanted, and they would make it, but again, Pelham Blue wasn't offered at the time. It could be a guitar made for an endorsed artists, but the only two people that had anything to do with this shade of Pelham Blue (unaged) would have been Dave Grohl (but he plays a Trini Reissue) or Zakk Wylde (but he only plays LPCs with Bullseye graphics).

Congrats on getting what you were looking for! I originally bought mine to refinish it, but after it arrived, and seeing that it looks like it's never been played, I fell for the Pelham Blue paint and decided to keep it as it is.

Damn liberals! I always figured they would plant these in my guns, not my guitars!
