I started playing in a 70's/80's classic rock cover band about a month ago and quickly determined I needed a more "era" appropriate axe so i started looking for a les paul. One of the stores I stopped in had several used/vintage les pauls and this:
It's a 1980 Aria Pro II LPC. Basically a copy of a Norlin era les paul custom: Solid Mahagony "pancake" body with maple top, mahagony neck, rosewood board, long neck tenon, super distortion copies, grovers and a finish/color that oozes 70's cheese
I put it up against a 1976 LPC and a couple of recent les pauls and it held it's own. You can tell its definately not a gibson but for the money; I couldn't find a reason not to buy it. I took it to practice the other night and it performed better than I could have hoped. So if anyone has one of these in their closet, let me know
