If you are truly unhappy, definitely return it.
A few small dings being "excellent" condition really is in the eye of the beholder. To me "mint" means it should be as new. "Excellent" means it probably has a few flaws. This guitar is 10 years old so unless it's unplayed I would probably expect a few dings or scratches if I was looking to buy it.
Whenever I sell anything I try to describe every little flaw if there are any. That way there isn't any confusion with the words "excellent", "mint", etc.... I do the same when buying. I ask the seller to describe or send pictures of all markings on the guitar.
