Yeah, yeah...I know!
but I really did want to like the Modern..hopefully this one can stay around 'coz it's cheaper
I got round to taking some proper shots...well at least non-stock photos:

The colour is really interesting, it truly has that kind of dull coppery sheen...the soft-touch texture is off the hook though...love it. My favourite thing about this guitar looks wise is the maple board against the soft copper....do I sound like an interior decorator...?
Playability...once I get used to the narrow board and to a greater extent the scale....there are no questions to me about playability on any of the 3 Suhrs I've tried now...the action was too high but looks like it'll go down to the board...I already halved it with no fret out or buzzing
Another thing....this guitar has Elixir 10-46s on it and I swear they feel like the 9s...weird.
Tone wise...*I* think this slays the $3k+ Modern LE08 I had...that might be heresy to some and I might be deaf but the SSH+ in the bridge with the Alder beat out the Aldrich Mahog/Flame Maple by quite some....
and I'm more comfortable on the Maple boards of this than the LE Rosewood...I really wanted to like the LE too, since I'm a sucker for looks of it but it was way too dark/polite/compressed sounding...woulda/shoulda/coulda changed the pickups but c'est las vie.
My least favourite thing about it...and I think all the Suhr Pro models share it (certainly my S3 did) is the maple neck doesn't feel like wood at all..it's so smooth and even, it feels synthetic...but it's fast as heck and I'd have to pay heck of a lot more to get a figured piece of wood.
