So picked up this little number last week on eBay. Can't believe no one else was watching such a low number first year quilt. This is number 587 and according to rockandrollweekend.com should make this the 7th quilt top off the production line. This one is so early it doesn't even have the pat pend stamp. Go it yesterday, pulled it apart cleaned it and set it up and she rips! The board isn't dirty like it looks in the pics, its that figured in person!

Score. Wolfgangs are some of the best production rock guitars ever made. I love my some purple too

Enjoy

HNGD !! Nice pick! I always liked the Peavey Wolfgang,, maybe I should pick up some,,, Oh yeah, I had a flametop in purple, thanks for making me miss it     enjoy the Wolfie!!!. Which others do you have?,, always wanted an amber flame with the tight pinstripe flame and a neck like your quilt there, nice and birdseye'z

wow.. awesome fretboard!

are those guitars actually signed on the back of the headstock?

I know that as well, but in the photo it looks like a real sig,,,, angle?, lighting? Dunno, cool guitar though!

Edit: I had an EVH Wolfgang. Nice guitar, but I didn't get along with the small frets.

Humm, EVH or Peavey? Peaveys have some pretty big frets.

Correct, EVH. My Peavey Wolfgang Archtop had huge frets. Loved that guitar.

Nice guitar! I never understood the value placed on these 'first year quilts' I mean I know they're rare and all, but the tops on them really kind of suck.

FWIW though, they're one of the best playing and sounding guitars. I've had a few and they were all excellent

Beautiful, almost bought one of these several times...they sound and play great!

Its pretty much the collectors and rarity that drove the prices for n these. At first there were thought to be 2000 produced before they switched to flame but through Geoff Knapps research it looks like they produced colser to only 1000. Ive seen only a handful of the first year quilts that had nice tops, this one isnt one of them. While its a beautiful guitar in person, the low serial number and crazy birdseye board really attracted me to this one. I got it for a steal of a price compared to a few years ago too. Going back four or five years this guy wouldve hit the 2500-3k mark easily. Gotta love how the collector market fell apart. Even the ebmm evhs are barely selling anymore

Hey all. I know I'm resurrecting an older thread here; however, I've been on a search to find a quilted purple Peavey Wolfgang with the carved archtop. Would any of you be in the market to sell or know of someone? I'm possibly open to trades as well.

Thank you!
