hate to honeymoon stage gush fest but sometimes it's warranted. THIS GUITAR IS AMAZING!!!!!!
fit, finish and attention to detail are remarkable. I scoured the entire thing for even a minor imperfection and could not find anything. the neck is very easy to play and I love the ebony fingerboard. the spalted maple top is gorgeous and I think the black binding and black hardware perfectly complete the entire package.
the fishman fluence modern pickups are crazy good. the first thing you notice is that there is zero noise. on modern mode there is obviously a bit more gain and aggression than in the passive mode but there is so much clarity and it just sounds more natural. having the two modes as push pull knobs is really nice. I used an EMG SA SA 85 set for a long time and these pickups are far superior.
customer service, communication and build time were all excellent. Joe sent me several in progress build pics and packed the guitar to withstand WWIII. He is exactly the type of small builder you want to support. I am already planning another one, probably the growler but with the fishman classics just to mix it up.
my phone takes crappy pics, sorry. the last one is from Joe and so is the video.
