Picked up an import BC Rich Mockingbird ST. I don't usually mess with non usa stuff but I noticed the price, condition, and someone swapped out the POS pups for a pair of Duncans.

I am really impressed with BC's high side of the import line. Ebony boards, original floyd, mahogany, and neck thru. Both this and my Jr V deluxe have super low action and play like my USA Jackson stuff.

Anyway, got home and found it had a distortion/Jazz combo. (my favorite pickup combo).

Only had to give $240.

Insert stupid movie clip. :D

I always thought, out of all the wild BC Rich shapes, the mockingbird would be the most comfortable to play sitting down, but it's NOT! That upper front "horn" digs right into my man boob.

The mockingbird and iron bird are 2 of my all time favorite guitars. Nice score.

Very cool. My first guitar was a BC Rich (Bronze Warlock), and a Mockingbird has always been on my list of guitars to own one day. Maybe I'll stumble across a good deal too. Congratz

Congrats! The quality is good onhigher end import BCR. Its the electronics, pickups and switches that are cheap so it looks like you'll be fine with the PU combo.

I have two import mocks, here is the floyded one with everything swapped out

Killer score!!!

Have never played a mocking bird but I like the looks of them.

I grew up with an old Warlock Platinum Series. Not an NJ but damn I wish I never sold that thing. Believe it or not, if you are right handed and play with the guitar on your left leg. The Warlock is very very comfy and actually makes for really good posture. lol

Yeah, I am super impressed. I am totally fine with cheap electronics, as long as the construction of the guitar is there, and it's there with these. You can change pots, but not fret boards.

I can't stand the warlock or beast, basically all the super crazy one's, but I will say the ignitor is pretty cool.

I've always been in love with the ignitor. Along with the mockingbird and the stealth, it's one of few BCR that I really like the looks of. Too bad finding the ignitor at a reasonable price is impossible. How BCR decided to move on with shapes like the god awful bitch and hoards of awful and then not do something more with the ignitor is beyond me.

Speaking of crazy cool BCR's. I almost bought this one a few years ago. What an awesome guitar, but the seller and I couldn't come to an agreement on price. He was stuck on $1450, I would only do $1400. Kicking myself so hard for so long for losing this one over $50. This is the one that was on the BCR custom shop homepage for a long time.

I had a USA Mockingbird in 80s with custom H-S-H great Guitar.

Always wondered if the ST3 being neck thru 25.5" scale is like a fatter Strat with great sustain ?

Is that what the Import is like ?
