Hey man, just wanted to share my new Charvel Dinky (22 fret) I got from Curt (Chubtone)...being the War'N'D fan boy that I am, I just had to have this thing the second I saw it. Great guitar, best playing one I have. Action is perfect; intonation is as good as I've ever played on. Pups are JB and a Quarter Pound (which I am really starting to dig...almost like a mix between a single and a humbucker).

My original intention was to have this baby sent off to a third party to get painted with the Frenchy graphic which for some reason Charvel doesn't offer, but I'm really starting to just appreciate the understated white w/black hardware. It may just stay the way it is.

The other thing is, Curt totally kept me updated throughout the whole process...made sure the guitar was set up just as I wanted it before delivery, made sure he used the shipment method I wanted, etc. I know I know, what a novel idea to listen to the customer :D ...Also, having visited NAMM the past three years, I've had the opportunity to talk to the Charvel reps quite a bit. I shit you not; Curt knows more about their own company than they do. I am absolutely convinced of this.

Thanks again Curt!

looks great in plain white. I am a fan of the Quarter Pounder.

That's absolutely amazing! It's not a production model, is it? I can't seem to find it on their site, so I assume it's custom? I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat if it was around the production model price.

Yeah man, like Chris O and some others have pointed out, this is a custom job. Specifically, it's the original mid-80s 22 fret Dinky body, which is a strat with an 1/8th of an inch off the edge -- basically the edge contours are like a tele (or presently, Andersons and Suhrs). This has always been my favorite type of super strat. It just has nice lines.

Obviously Curt can give the specifics (I believe he actually ordered on spec rather than for someone else). I was down here for NAMM this past January and stopped in his shop and he told me about it; as soon as he described it to me, I was like, "uh...ok, I'll just take that please." Sight unseen, yes, but I've wanted something like this since HS. It doesn't come with the production model $ price tag, but it's certainly not exhorbitant either. Like I (and everyone else) said, Curt is the man!

Congrats man!

Very Steve Stevens!!! I love it! :rawk:
Thanks man; when I decided to get it, I was thinking of DeMartini, but Curt actually based this guitar on one of the Charvel SS models before Stevens went over to Washburn, I believe? Either way...good times.
