First of all, I'm glad you dig the guitar. I'm not sure if I told this story on here, but I am a huge fan of the Dinky body shape. When I started seeing them recently I kept looking at them and thinking that something wasn't quite right. When I ordered this guitar I said I want the "classic Dinky" shape and my sales guy said, "you mean like the DeMatini snakeskin" and I said, "no, the DeMartini snakeskin while cool is the 90's Jackson Dinky shape and not the shape Charvel and Jackson used in the 80's." There was some doubt at my memory on the part of the guys at the factory so I said, "can I come down and look at your old templates?"
A few weeks later, I went down there and went with one of the guys to the rack where the current templates hang. He pulled down what they called the 22 fret dinky shape and it was exactly like the new DeMartini. I told the guy "that's not a Charvel dinky. That's a mid 90's Jackson Dinky shape." So Mike Shannon came over since he had been there since the early times. I told him what I thought about the Dinky shape not being "right" and he put the newer Dinky template on the strat template and said, "you know what, you're right. I'll be right back." Ten minutes later he was back with the correct template and I took one look at it and said, "Now THAT is a Charvel Dinky." So Mike took a Dremel and carved "Original 80's Charvel Dinky" into the face of that template. This guitar you see here is the result of that.
It might not be a big deal to others, but it's a cool enough looking body shape that it is what Suhr uses on the Standard. Yeah, I said it.

I saw this guitar over at the shop the other day and it was gorgeous! There was another one there that was just calling my name though.

Love the Dinky body with a strathead neck. I have a couple of Jackson PC1's as well as a few Jackson Dinky bodies with Musikraft 24 fret strathead necks. I was just never a fan of the strat body and always preferred the Dinky body.
