I LOVE me some Charvels. I recently acquired2 custom shop nitro series. The first one was a blue sparkle that ended up having to go back as I wasn't ready for the pre pro style neck and 1 3/4 nut lol. The E strings literally road the edge of the board and kept falling off. Tried to change to a smaller nut but the holes needed to be filled and re drilled as they dont line up going from an R5 nut to smaller. It was a beautiful figured neck and I didn't want to mod it so I passed along the info to a few group members and someone snagged it up quick.
The second is also a nitro series but with the more familiar San Dimas neck carve that most everyone knows and loves. Its a seafoam green with an amazing relic job. Im not much into relics but this one is lightly done and really looks like a well played guitar from the early 80's. Swamp ash body with the super distortion gives me "that" tone. Plays like an absolute monster and right now the Anderson hasn't been out of the case since it came it (though my Anderson is still my first love obviously)
Ive had a thing for Charvels since I started playing and have had quite a few custom shops over the years. Imho its hard to find anyone that does as nice a neck as Charvel custom shop. I recently tried one of the newer mexican Pro mods as well and almost bought it as my beater but for Charvels I prefer the top mounted floyd though I might still snag it for the price my friends shop has it for.
This is the blue sparkle that went back and is now with another happy groomed noodler group member
And here is the Seafoam green nitro that I am keeping.
