Just got this in from Sweetwater. I was in the quoting process of having a local luthier build a guitar for me in trade for an amp, but the deal ending up falling through. No biggie. So fast forward a month or two and I find that the specs I wanted in my custom build were pretty much on par with the Charvel DeMartini. I wanted a dinky style body with 1 hum and 1 single, floyd rose, quartersawn maple neck, truss rod wheel nut, and no tone knob. Only thing I would change on this is have a recessed Floyd and direct mount pickup, but that's splitting hairs at this point. It's a MIM DeMartini; no way would I feel ok paying mid $3k for the USA made one.

Love how this plays. I didn't care for the factory 9's that were on it, so I strung it up with 10-52 to Eb, and it rips. The RTM pickup has some balls to it! Chords are nice and fat with some good separation, and leads are almost compressed a little so they sound fairly fluid - compared to the JB I have in a similar guitar. Kind of a thin neck, but not as thin as my Michael Wilton LTD. I'm used to Lynch style necks so this is a bit of an adjustment. The 12-16 compound radius is great. Fits my hands very well. Quite impressed with this guitar!

My favorite charvel currently in production! Gotta love anything in snakeskin. Very jealous.

Got one of these for Christmas and love it. Installed some black hardware on it that I had from a Mexi San Dimas. Really like the black on it better than the chrome. Plays great and sounds really good.

I'm in the process of doing that myself actually. I have a black OFR on one of my LTD guitars I'll put in place of the chrome Floyd 1000 that's currently on the DeMartini. I'm also robbing the tuning keys, volume knob, and jack plate lol

Nice! Got the look of the US model without the crazy price ha ha!

Awesome! One of the three sig models I'm really interested in too.

HNGD!

Beautiful !! Really nice dude! Is that a Quick Rod I see there? killer amp !

DeMartini? Never heard of him...

Nah but seriously, snakeskin guitars are rad, congrats, HNGD

Happy new guitar day! The DiMartini pup is awesome I have one on a faux snakeskin guitar that was made by New York Clones.

I'm very interested in this guitar. It appears the tremelo is not recessed/cut out?

I may want to replace the OFR as I grew to dislike them years ago. Schaller makes a vintage replacement that is supposed to be a drop in. I would consider doing that if don't get along with the floyd.

Cool guitar. I'd like to play some of these new import Charvels to see what they're like. For that matter, I'd like to play some of the USA ones. Nobody around here carries them. I have a couple of originals from the early 80's, but they're retired now...

I love the fact that DeMartini still has a signature model on the market too. That's cool.

Hey Ross! Too bad you aren't still around the Twin Cities - I had all of them! USA's and imports!

Hey man, how's it going? I've been pretty out of the music scene for the last decade - kids, multiple job transfers, etc. I miss the Twin Cities.....well, not in January.

I'm in Kansas City now, which is a nice enough city, but the music-shop scene here is pretty poor compared to there. We have a GC or two, and a much of small places with entry level equipment.
