Well, my Charvel DK24 HH HT arrived yesterday. I played it at the house for about five minutes and decided that the Duncan Full Shred needed to go. Lol. Threw in a Suhr Aldrich and slapped on a set of 10-48 string. Took it to practice, and it sounded killer. Nice and fat with great note definition. Need to make some small setup tweaks, but overall this is a great guitar.

Charvel being able to use the Fender headstock makes them so much better looking.

What did you think of the full shred? To me it sounded like a single coil almost especially on palm mutes

Single-coil sounding pretty much nails it. Which is weird, as I have owned a Full Shred in the past and don't remember it sounding like that. Honestly, they would have been better off putting in a JB or a Holdsworth.
Yup, I want a charvel now. Damnit.

How’s the neck?
The neck feels pretty much like my other two Charvel Pro Mod necks. The only real complaint that I have with the neck on this guitar is that it does not have the Luminlay dots on the side. Apparently, those only come on the baked maple necks. Which I think is kinda bullshit. To me, the Charvel necks are some of the nicest in hand necks for me personally.

Been eyeing the satin black DK24. I love cheaper guitars that can be modded and they punch way above their price point.

Honestly, this guitar and my Schector Reaper 6 have been very solid purchases. I swap pickups in my Les Pauls, so doing it to a $1k guitar is nothing. Both guitars are absolute players.

Thinner I assume? I’m a big neck guy. Not sure how they’d feel in my hands. Does sound like bullshit though!

Nice! I did the same thing with my DK24Infinity blue. I swapped out the full shred for an Aldrich and the neck single for a 1/4 pounder.
Also threw in the Brass block that GBSMusic threw in the box when I bought it from him.
they should send these out like this from the factory, my DK sounds killer now :)

I had to go play one, so I ran down to the local gc a few hours ago. I didn't hate them really. Quite fun actually.
I find it to be a very fun guitar. It's easy to play and sounds really good. I find that the note separation is much better than on my Les Pauls. Which is great for the music that I play.

Laurel top on that one?
It is a mahogany body with a poplar burl top. And to top is an actual piece of wood, and not just a laminate.

The one I have the only complaint now that I swapped out the bridge pickup is the satin paint. I wish it was gloss.

I love buckeye burl. Is that the same thing as poplar burl? Looks killer, congrats.
