So...I was looking for an EVH Frankie, or something kind of worn in, maple or roasted maple, tremolo, something like that. Something that was similar to my #1 (Suhr) but could hit some other ground. On a whim I decided to check the local shops around the state. I stumbled upon the GG Charvel about 3 hours away, shot them a random offer and they said ‘sure’. Picked it up, brought it home, had terrible setup done so I got it right and whoa, what a guitar!

I’ll post more over the next day or so, but what a really nice guitar, plays unbelievably well. Here’s a quick and lousy video. I’ll do something else later.
Pics are under the video.

Dammit, it must have been close to me and I've wanted one of these for a while. Nice find!
Atlanta discount music on consignment! Contacted the owner and we met in Macon. If you are local I have no problem letting you borrow it and check it out, just give me a couple weeks to jam it!

Cool man, thanks! I'm in Canton but I travel to Jesup/Savannah a few times a year. I wanted that Artist, did you sell it?

I have a GG ash that is awesome, I wish the finish was just a little more durable.

Yea, that’s the big complaint about these, it’s easy to ding! However, it’s such a natural feeling and sounding instrument without all kinds of lacquer and almost has a relic’d feel, but maybe that’s because I bought it used. Neat sounding guitar, has a very distinct vowel-like midrange and is exceptionally clear.

dude, cut those strings on your suhr! you are going to poke your eye!! it happened to me! not fun, or good feeling

Already done! I set them both up late last night and did t realize it until this morning.

Man, I'm so happy for you and yet it irks me that I had to give up my dream of getting one a couple o' years back, and here you are getting one at the drop of a hat. No fair!

Prohibitively-expensive here in Australia and the wait was gonna be, like, a year at least.

wow, you got a hold of a 100b? how long have you had it? there was one on reverb a while back for a killer price!

Maybe two months or so? Awesome amp, I hope to hang onto it, it’s a white one, serial is #24 I think? Perfect match for this guitar too, they compliment each other well.

Ahh man, I’m sorry to cause mood fluctuation! Yea I’ve been wanting one forever, but couldn’t find one close by. I had decided I was going to buy a MIM EVH Frankie, but was really not happy with prices, especially now. I found this by chance for not much more at all, just really lucky. This is excellent, because I notoriously have bad luck, it’s nice to be on the receiving end! Also after 26 years playing I now have 2 electrics, haha.

Dude - I’ve listened to several of your videos. You play so SO well! Even when you know you’re not ‘warmed up’ your level of talent and ability just shines through. Really nice phrasing, great note selection, spot-on in-tune bends, and scary shred chops! Killer, man!

Ha! I ended up with a 2nd-hand MM Luke II in place of the Charvel GG.

Yeah, I've had terrible luck throughout my life too, so when something actually works in my favour I savour it like you wouldn't believe.
