Snagged this near-new Pointy reissue on CL. The perfect opposite to my white Soloist! Frets are awesome, action is super low and buzz free. Neck is a thin D shape, not as chunky as I usually like, but it's so comfy! ZERO wear, seller said it was a closet queen - better for me!

Quality is better than my previous two San Dimas USA Charvel Pro Mods, like others have said, USA Select quality, I think. It was made in April of '06.

Awesome! I have its beat up grandfather that looks just like it. It was made in the late 80's. Not sure of the exact year. It was the first guitar I ever bought with my own money. It's been through hell and looks like it but it just drips mojo. It's in semi-retirement now as it's in desperate need of new frets and the fretboard needs to be re-planed. It's a guitar I'll never get rid of.

Mines an 87' i got from Daddy's Junky Music in 2000, put an EMG-81 and it's golden.

Back in 86' i had a couple real nice Charvels ... :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

Here's a clip of that Charvel. It was a Model #1 with fulcrum trem that someone added a Floyd.

I only paid $200 plus shipping, no pic in the catalog just took a chance. Guitar rocks, Basswood body, Indian Rosewoob FB.

Alot of Model #1's had Maple boards, my neck may not be original but plays great ...

Cool! Yours just has a rosewood board vs. my ebony.

Yes, I noticed that. I also changed out the pickups and put a big brass block in it.

The way my neck is angled, my Floyd is almost sitting on the back of the guitar, is your action/Floyd like that?

Yes, it is. I had to get it adjusted since the bottom of the floyd was digging into the body. I bought mine/traded some guitars for a NOS from a local dealer here in Chicagoland. It plays and sounds great now.

I thought I needed a shim, so I took the neck off - and there were already 2 cardboard shims in there!

How many shims are too many?
