I had been looking for just the right color purple CS Charvel-type but hadn't had much luck so I was considering either a Musikraft build or another custom Chubtone. But I don't need another project and I'm impatient and didn't want to wait for a build. Then XSSIVE posts up DA.033 in the classifieds and resistance was futile. I can't photo it like he does but you get the idea. This thing plays/feels/sounds amazing. I love the upper fret access and I really like the way he sets up the Floyd, dive only but feels like butter AND you can do all the pedal-steel/unison bends you want and they're all in tune.

Congrats! Looks like it plays itself....love the color.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you're enjoying it. It looks like it's in good company too.

Congrats. I've always thought his guitars look really great. That headstock shape/design looks very cool!

Thanks all! I've been giving it a workout today and I'm absolutely loving this thing. It's so strong and clear and the intonation is really sweet.

What a beautiful top on that monster! Congrats on the NGD, it seems to round out your collection beautifully

I own the 'sister' guitar to this one, DA026, and I can't agree more! Mike's attention to detail and fine tuning is second to none. Such a great guitar to play! And the finish is so nice!

Mike, what's the status with the 81? Also do you ever do reverse head stock?

I'm just about ready to start taking new custom orders on the 1981 models. I wanted to make sure all the CNC program changes I made worked out, and they did. Posted some sneak previews of two of the 1981 models on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/davanzoguitars/). I changed up a lot of little stuff, but the main body shape, its contours, my heel design and headstock are all the same. Little stuff changed, some specs got standardized with no option to change and customer choice options got honed in and narrowed down to sort of unify the brand and give it a defined style (just like all other guitar brands) and still give customers options for custom orders, but make things less overwhelming. I'm a newb at CAD design software (I'm better at 2D design and real world hand shaping wood haha) and have been working with a pro who I paid to help with all the changes I wanted. One thing I didn't account for were reverse headstocks. I'll look into how easy that will be to do and determine if it's going to be an option at all and if does become an option will it be a free or minor upcharge option since a new program will have to be made to do it.

Thanks Mike. I'm looking to buy "something" floyd based later this summer and custom seems to be my only option. Hum/single has always been my favorite setup. I'll keep checking the site. Is that the best way to contact you?
