Sweet guitar

But why didn't you offer the guy 1100$ ?
It was a judgement call... I figured $1300.00 was more than Sam Ash Music would offer. Plus, he didn't have an "I'll sell it for $1100.00" look on his face. I offered to trade him my '86 Charvel, but he wanted cash. Judging by all of the Doll House stickers he had on the back of his truck, I'm betting most of that money went to "Shasta, doing for ya center-stage!"

I got mine beat up and faded for 1500 over 10 years ago and its still my favorite axe of all time. that is a sick guitar, hold on to it!!!!

Every Floyd Rose tremolo I've ever played was a 'floating' type setup with a routed body. I'm loving the Floyd setup like this!

That may be the case but these and every other evh guitar is designed to have the base ate of the Floyd resting on the body (dive only). The idea is if you break a string the rest of the strings won't go out of tune and it supposedly adds sustain. Which is why they often shim the necks on these. Doesn't mean it can't be a floater...looks killer and talk about being in the right place at the right time!!

Like I said, he also had a white LP Standard. It's the first one I have ever seen, but he wanted too much for it. I should have offered him $2000.00 for both guitars...

Question:
Do these guitars have stainless steel frets? There ZERO fret-wear that I can tell.

I'm pretty sure they are nickel.

The high E is fine. The bridge sits at a backward angle, which I don't like. If I level the bridge, and drop it lower, the strings will be sitting on the frets. I'm thinking the former owned may have shimmed the neck? I don't see any shim material, but that doesn't mean there isn't a Doll House matchbook cover tucked in there.

THAT's more like it! I sold my EBMM EVH because I didn't like the non-adjustable action (unless you used a shim in the neck pocket)! Yours looks to be set up much better - enjoy!
Don't know what happened to my pics, but I reposted them.

I'm not exactly thrilled with the pickups. The mids and top sound great, but they lack definition in the bottom-end. A gain pedal would tighten the bottom, but I like to run my gain amp without. The neck pickup is WAY too dark sounding! Ideally, I'd like to flip the magnet in the neck pickup, but its stock status prevents me from doing it.

Ill buy the pups if you sell them

In that instance, I just would sell the complete guitar. Way too rare of an axe for mods IMO.

Most of the EBMM EVH necks I've seen were/are birds eye maple... What gives?
